The recreational leagues for the 2024/25 indoor season are well and truly underway!
Alongside the amazing help of our Volunteer Parent Coaches, our Club Referees and Program Management have successfully introduced revamped competition structure for all four age divisions showcasing their soccer skills this indoor season.
Both the U11-13 and U14-16 girls divisions play a round-robin in their own divisions each session. Teams earn points at the end of each session depending on how they performed, and help shape the league table. The first place team earns 4 points, second place earns 3 points, third place earns 2 points, and fourth place earns 1 point. For their season finale, teams will play two games (i.e. a semi-final and final), being seeded for their semi-final match based on where they finished in the league table.
The U11-13 boys compete in a two phase league competition, raising the stakes to see if teams can “do the double” with a fall and winter finals day. Teams will play a single game on each finals day session against the team closest to them in the league standings. 1st place will play 2nd place, 3rd will play 4th, and 5th will play 6th to ensure a relatively equal fixture difficulty, ensuring competitive play.
For the U14-16 boys, their league structure is similar to those played in professional leagues around the world. Alongside their league matches, teams will play each other in cup matches, leaving a league and cup winner to be crowned on the final day of the season. The fixtures for the final session will be based on results in the cup matches.
