PROGRAM OVERVIEW u14 TO u18

Our Spring Outdoor Recreational Soccer Program for players born 2008 to 2012 is all about playing the game! Designed for our older players, this program focuses entirely on games in a fun, low-pressure environment. Depending on registration numbers, teams will either be set for the season or created at the start of each game based on attendance. Parent coaches and certified staff referees help keep things running smoothly, creating a welcoming, community-focused atmosphere where everyone gets to play. Please consider coaching your child’s team! No experience required!

Friend Requests

Please submit only one name (first and last) for your friend request. The request will only be considered valid if the named person reciprocates. For example, if Player A requests Player B, Player B must also submit a request for Player A.

While every effort will be made to accommodate friend requests, the integrity and balance of the division will always be paramount.

To change a friend request, please email Elaine at administration@ntsoccer.com by April 14.

The friend request deadline is April 14. No refunds or credits will be given if a friend request can not be honoured.

Before you register, make sure to familiarize yourself with the items below

Fees cover the costs of uniforms, team photos, Ontario Soccer registration fees, insurance, certified referees, technical staff support, fields and equipment.

There’s no fee reduction if only able to attend once a week.

Coaches needed!  North Toronto Soccer Club relies on your involvement to help provide a great soccer experience for every child; our recreational program volunteers contributed to the success of the 2025 season! We encourage parents to help by coaching (U14+) or assisting the staff coach (U4-U13) their child’s team. Please indicate your interest in coaching when asked during the registration process.

Playing in another age group: Players will only be “aged up” or “aged down” if deemed beneficial (based on their skill level) for the child’s development to play in an age group other than their own. We do not take into consideration other reasons such as schedules, friends, siblings, or carpooling. Players will start in their own age group and request an assessment once the session is underway. Upon assessment and approval by the Recreational Development Head Coach, the child may switch age groups, if there’s availability.

We care about our children’s safety. This is not a drop-off program. Our volunteers and staff are not responsible for supervising children – please ensure that your young children are never left alone at the field.

We sponsor children from the community who would otherwise be unable to participate, subsidizing over 200 player fees annually. This is made possible by team sponsors and donations from NTSC families who contribute an extra amount when registering their own children. Donations may now be made through the North Toronto Sports Foundation for which charitable tax receipts will be issued.

Families needing financial assistance should contact sponsoredplayers@ntsoccer.com 6 weeks before the season.

Each family has one registration/payment account. Players under 18 must be registered by a parent or legal guardian. No non-family members may be registered under the family account.

All cancellations and withdrawals must be requested in writing (email: administration@ntsoccer.com). In the case of certifiable medical reasons, you must notify us within 7 days of a diagnosis and a signed doctor’s note must be provided. All cancellations are pro-rated and subject to a $30 admin fee and the cost of the uniform and ball ($40).

Any sessions missed for any reason cannot be refunded or credited.

There are no refunds or make-up sessions for weather-related cancellations. We may make changes to the program or activities in an effort to keep sessions on. Field locations may change due to field permit exclusion dates.

No refunds or credits will be given if a friend request can not be honoured.

North Toronto Soccer’s official policy is available here. An unofficial copy is provided below for convenience.

Lightning & Inclement Weather Policy

Lightning & Thunderstorms
In the event of thunder and/or lightning, North Toronto Soccer adheres to Canada Soccer’s Lightning Safety/Severe Weather Policy. In the event of thunder or lightning, games or training sessions will be immediately halted. All parties are to quickly leave the field and seek shelter in a safe location. Players and coaches are not to return to the field – and the game will not be resumed – until 30 minutes after the last thunder or lightning.
The decision to start (or not start) and continue (or not continue) a game or training session will be made at the field. These decisions are the responsibility of the most senior technical staff present at the field, and such decisions are final. In the case that a technical staff member is not present, the decision will rest with the match official/referee. For official league games involving other Clubs the decision rests entirely with the match official/referee.

Field Closures
When weather or field conditions are an issue, games will sometimes be cancelled ahead of time at some or all fields. Such announcements will be posted on our website & social media pages, no later than 90 minutes ahead of the scheduled start time. North Toronto Soccer maintains its programs by obtaining permits for a variety of fields. The owners of these fields have differing policies on when fields may not be used, but generally, if there has been significant rainfall that leaves standing water on the field, creates unsafe conditions for players or increases the likelihood of significant damage to the field, games and training sessions may be cancelled. Such decisions will be made by the most senior technical staff present. In the case that a technical staff member is not present, the decision will rest with the match official/referee.

Abandoned Games
For North Toronto Soccer Recreational Program, any game that is cancelled before reaching half-time (or the halfway mark) will not be rescheduled (due to limited field availability), no result will be recorded and the game will be excluded from the standings. Any game that has reached or passed half-time (or the halfway mark) and is subsequently abandoned due to weather or field conditions, the official score shall be
recorded as the score at the time the game was abandoned.
For North Toronto Soccer official league & cup games against other Clubs, the rules of the competition will determine how abandoned games are handled.

North Toronto Recreational Program – Playoffs
In the case of inclement weather or unsuitable field conditions during a playoff tournament, games may be delayed or rescheduled for later in the tournament. However, if this is not possible due to tight scheduling and limited field availability, any game that is suspended or abandoned without reaching half-time (or the halfway mark) will be recorded as a 1-0 win for the team with the higher ranking during the regular season. If a game that has reached half-time or the halfway mark has a tied score at the time the match is suspended, and rescheduling is not possible, the teams may proceed directly to a penalty shootout to determine the winner, at the discretion of the Club. If the shootout cannot be conducted, the team with the higher regular season ranking will be considered the winner.
