The Select program offers a bridge between the Recreational Soccer Program and the Grassroots Development program. The programs is offered to male players U9 to U13 looking to continue developing their soccer skills and techniques in a more structured environment. This program consists of two weekday practice sessions and weekend festivals through the outdoor season.

Our curriculum will follow a Game-Activity-Game (GAG) or a Station Model format depending on the age and group.

Registration is by invite only.

Interested new players are encouraged to email Niall, the coordinator niall@northtorontosoccer.com. Players will be invited to attend one or two practices to determine if the program is the right fit.

Saturday April 11, April 18 and April 25 at Central Technical School (in the dome) at 8am to 9:30am

Outdoor dates: May 4 to Sept. 9 (twice weekly): 
Mondays: from 6:00pm to 7:15pm at Eglinton Park and
Wednesdays: from 5:30pm to 6:45pm at Havergal College (South Field – Ratcliffe field) 

Black-out week: August 3 to 7 (no practices that week)

Currently, priority is given to current indoor Select players and then previous Select players.

If there’s still room on the teams, interested new players will be able to try the program by attending a training session and have their skill level assessed. A member of our staff will determine suitability. The suitability of new players based on various factors, with skill level being one of the primary considerations. However, it’s important to note that coaches may also evaluate other attributes such as attitude, teamwork, physical fitness, tactical understanding, and potential for improvement when selecting new players for a select team. Ultimately, the goal is to create a well-rounded team that can perform effectively on the field.

We will not be holding tryouts or Open Development Sessions. Interested players are encourage to contact the coordinator: Niall at niall@northtorontosoccer.com.

The fee is $1500 and includes a ball and full kit. Registration is by invite only: code required.

FEES INCLUDE:
– Training Fields: 2 weekly training sessions
– Coaching Staff: 2 weekly training sessions and festivals
– Registration Cost: Includes Toronto Soccer, Ontario Soccer and Canada Soccer fees
– Adidas Training Kit: Kit includes a practice jersey, 2 game jerseys, 2 pairs of shorts, and 3 pairs of different coloured socks.
– NTS Player Subsidy Fund: Assisting committed players from families with limited financial resources.

Central Technical School (725 Bathurst St)

A map of the Central Tech School (725 Bathurst St) can be found here. The school is at Bathurst and Harbord Sts. The dome is in front of the school. There’s free parking behind the school in the TDSB parking lot (off of Borden St). The best way to get to the front from the parking lot is through the walkway along the north side of the school.

 

Indoor turf field at Downsview Hangar Field #3 & 4 (The Hangar, 75 Carl Hall Rd, North York, ON M3K 2B9)
Entry: Please enter the building through the main entrance on Carl Hall Rd (Hangar Sign above the doors). See image below.
Field Location: Turn right when you enter the building. Once you reach the main lobby, Field 4 will be the first field on the left, Field 3 is behind Field 4.

Parking is available at the Arena Parking lot. The area where practice will take place is circled.

 

There are two fields at Havergal College. Practice will be on the Ratcliffe field (accessible from Avenue Rd)

The field circled in the image below is accessible via both parking lots, see arrows.

Refunds and/or credits are only issued in limited circumstances:

– If the team does not continue to operate and no suitable alternative is found within the club for the player.
– Fees will not be pro-rated or adjusted for players who miss part of the season.
– If the player suffers a major injury which prevents the player from participating in 50% or more of the season’s activities.
     Must be reported in writing within 7 days of the injury being diagnosed.
     Must be supported by medical records as requested.
     A pro-rated refund will be calculated.
     The injury must occur during Nitros activities.
     Refund requests must be in writing and addressed to administration@ntsoccer.com.

There are no refunds or make-up sessions for weather-related cancellations. We may make changes to the program or activities in an effort to keep sessions on. Field locations may change due to field permit exclusion dates. 

  • This program is designed for players with varying commitment levels and there are no consequences for absences due to vacations and other commitments. There will be no fee adjustments for any missed time and there will be no practices or festivals scheduled on long weekends or holidays.
  •  We ask that players are able to commit to 4 out of 5 festivals so we can enter the correct number of teams for each festival.

U9 Teams (players born in 2017)
– 5v5 team: maximum squad per festival 10

U10 Teams (players born in 2016)
– 7v7 team: maximum squad per festival 12

U11 Teams (players born in 2015)
– 7v7 team: maximum squad per festival 12

U12 Teams (players born in 2014)
– 9v9 team: maximum squad per festival 16

U13 Teams (players born in 2013)
– 9v9 team: maximum squad per festival 16

There could be the opportunity to call up to a Nitros Development team for one of their games. If a Nitros Development team is short players, they can look to Select players to help fill out the roster and give a chance for them to play in a league game.
